Summer Watersports at Trevassack Lake
Hooray for the Summer holidays, the perfect time for creating core memories – summer seems to last forever when you’re little!
But what things to do during the summer holidays are on near Helston?
As well as our sailing courses on the Helford River here’s our guide to What’s On at Trevassack Lake.
Sessions just for you
If you’d like some instruction in sailing or paddlesports or just some family time afloat, please get in touch and we will create a bespoke lake session to suit your exact needs – for all ages and abilities.
Our friendly and experienced watersports staff will assist you with skills and tips on how to keep afloat and what to do if you fall in, but the main thing is to have fun while you learn how to operate the equipment safely.
Summer swims to keep your cool
The next full membership starts 30th July and offers a greatly reduced rate for regular swimmers, however it’s just £6.50 for everyone else to drop in with no commitment meantime. Stay healthy this summer with refreshing, revitalising open water Lake Dips, before retreating to the café for coffee, cake and a chat.
Fun Multi-Activity Sessions
Join in the adventure with a 2.5 hour session trying out all the different water craft available on the day. Sessions are tailored according to the children – and the weather. So what they get to do depends on age, ability and general consensus of what looks the most fun!

Sailing Dinghies
We’ve got a multitude of sailing dinghies available for hire as well! You can take out the boat we all started sailing with; an Optimist (takes up to 2 children), the classic Laser Pico (takes 1 adult or 2 children), a more spacious RS Zest (takes 1 adult or 2 children) or even our accessible deckchair-fitted sailing dinghy the Hansa 303 (takes up to 2 adults).
Please get in touch with the team as basic sailing experience is required for the hire of sailing dinghies (RYA level 1 or RYA Stage 3 or equivalent experience).
Accessible Katakanus
We’re delighted to have received funding from SFD to purchase two katakanus – twin hulled catamaran-like canoes suitable for up to 6 persons (one of which MUST be over 18) and can be hired by the hour (no minimum ability required).
Please get in touch with the team to book as there is limited availability.
