CST Experiences

Your wedding on our lake

Our serene and natural environment makes the most stunning backdrop for your special day, from the stillness of the 10 acre freshwater lake, to the wild beauty surrounding it, with use of our fully accessible site including a large lakeside function room with adjoining bistro cafe and on site accommodation. We’d be happy to discuss your individual dreams, from a simple waterside ceremony, to a full site takeover – even some wedding day watersports if you so wish!

A new, not-for-profit venue

Trevassack Lake is owned by charity Children’s Sailing Trust, who run holidays, watersports and events here meaning the money you pay to hold your wedding ceremony by the lake goes towards supporting the work of our charity. CST supports local schoolchildren and SEND groups by getting them out on the water, and teaching them life skills such as confidence, creative thinking and resilience as well as helping with social skills.

As a charity, we don’t have a marriage licence yet, so currently we can hold a beautiful ceremony and celebration with a Celebrant before you register the marriage with the authorities.

Outdoor Spaces

The lakeside function room has large sliding doors out on to the decking that wraps around the building and the beach area can be accessed from here.

The water is our biggest draw and of course can be a part of your big day – whether you want to get in it or on it! There are options for sailing boats and our solar-powered platform boat, Floaty.

The site is open to the public for the cafe, but depending on your requirements, if you choose a site takeover or book the cafe, we can close for the event.

Indoor Places

The main function room is a dual-aspect, high ceiling room next to the lake, surrounded by decking and beside the cafe. This room can seat 48 and is wheelchair accessible, with two Changing Places facilities close by as well as changing rooms, toilets and lockers.

Additionally there are the large holiday properties on site, where you may like to book an overnight (or longer) stay to get ready, or enjoy your private hot tub before/after the big day.

Pet Friendly Weddings

We’re happy to discuss pet-friendly weddings (if your doggy wants to be ring-bearer, for example) as we do have dog-friendly accommodation and dogs on leads are allowed on site.

LGBTQ+ Welcome

It goes without saying for us, that any person is welcome here at Trevassack so do pop in for a coffee and a chat if you’d like to get a better feel for the place and the people who work here.

Accessible Weddings

Our site is fully accessible for all abilities and mobilities, with level smooth pathways, no steps, wide doorways, Changing Places facilities and Hearing Loops, so every single person can fully enjoy the day. If you choose to make use of our purpose-built accommodation, several are fully accessible with ceiling hoists and profiling beds plus plenty of helpful aids. We are set up so your day can run smoothly.
